Sennheiser Accentum
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Sennheiser Accentum is positioned as a budget-friendly alternative to flagship noise-canceling headphones, praised for its detailed sound quality and lightweight build. However, user sentiment is frequently split regarding its physical design; while it offers a signature Sennheiser audio profile, many users find the plastic construction feels cheap and the high clamping force uncomfortable for long sessions.
Pros
- Detailed and clear sound quality that punches above its price point
- Lightweight design makes it suitable for portable use and the gym
- Effective active noise cancellation (ANC) for the mid-range category
- Often cited as a strong value when found on sale (around $100-$130)
Cons
- High clamping force can lead to discomfort during extended wear
- Earcups are relatively small and shallow, which may not suit all users
- Build materials are noticeably plastic and can feel 'cheap'
- The companion app is frequently described as mediocre or 'mid'
Caveats
- Comfort is highly subjective with this model due to the tight fit and earcup dimensions
- Users often compare it to the Sony XM4/XM5, noting that while the sound is competitive, the build and app experience are steps down
Best for
- Budget-conscious listeners who prioritize sound signature over premium materials
- Users looking for a lightweight over-ear headphone for gym or commute
Avoid if
- You are sensitive to headband pressure or clamping force
- You have larger ears that require deep earcup clearance
- You prefer a premium, metal-heavy build quality

The Sennheiser Accentum is $130.
How about the Sennheiser Accentum? Those are under $200 if I recall.
For that price I’d recommend something like senny accentum?
Parent context: Uh not reading that ChatGPT log tbh dude. But if you’re in the US it doesn’t get better the. Sennheiser accentum, or Sony ULT. If you like a lot of bass and want things to connect as easy as possible get Sony. If you want slightly better sound quality and are ok with the sennheiser app being kinda mid then that’s your bet. I will say though for like 50-75$ more you can easily get a pair of xm5’s … Reply: ...if you want slightly better sound quality and are ok with the sennheiser app being kinda mid then that’s your bet.
Sennheiser accentum are too plastic. Also looks cheap.
I have the accentum now on trial. It’s nice sound is detailed and clear. Very light. ANC is good enough too. My only issue and the only reason I won’t keep them is because they clamp too hard.
Not cheap either, are the Sennheiser Accentum, the more premium former top of their line Momentum 4 and now their newest HDB 630.
Another option is Sennheiser Accentum with BTD700 dongle too, they also have good sound sound for the price, comparable ANC but have kinda small and shallow earcups so might not be the best fit.
I don't know if it's better than Sony, but check Sennheiser Accentum on Black Friday. If i remember correctly now it's slightly above 100 euros, but maybe you find a deal.
Some of the options I’m considering around €150 are: ... Sennheiser Accentum
