Pros
- My group enjoyed most of it, so I'd say definitely give it a shot.
- Seafall is my #1 board game! Absolutely finish it! I'm guessing if you've only played a few games then you haven't made it past the tear in thr ocean. That's when the game really opens up and gets fun!
- Seafall, My City, and Betrayal Legacy have been our favorites so far. As you play them,, parts of the game that were there the whole time get revealed to have actual mechanics behind them. It's like uncovering a secret!
- I really enjoyed it, and the legacy twists are very interesting, but it’s a major undertaking. I think you could probably play it ok with two players, so give it a try

- If you want a competitive strategy game with balanced play, seadall isn't it. ... If you like an interesting and in some ways innovative experience, seafall is great. It gets unbalanced quickly, where the leader has an advantage and the...
- Parent context: Is it worth me trying to get a group together to play it or should I just get rid of it, move on, stop worrying about this large box sitting there taunting me, and incidentally free up some shelf space. Reply: You need to...
- It was considered a flop because it was an unbalanced mess that was clearly rushed to market too soon. The hype made it an all-time flop because so many people bought it, played it, and realized it wasn't good.
- My group dropped it around game 9 or 10 as various problems became more apparent the longer we played. ... we found there were serious balance issues and some rules and game structure issues. For example, we hit a 3 gane stretch where it...

Parent context: Is it worth me trying to get a group together to play it or should I just get rid of it, move on, stop worrying about this large box sitting there taunting me, and incidentally free up some shelf space. Reply: You need to understand that the game is wildly out of balance and the catch up mechanic doesn't mitigate that, so you need to understand that one player is likely have an insurmountable lead halfway through the game. If you can deal with that and are interested in just seeing how the story plays out, then you'll probably have a good time.

My group dropped it around game 9 or 10 as various problems became more apparent the longer we played. ... we found there were serious balance issues and some rules and game structure issues. For example, we hit a 3 gane stretch where it was really unclear what we were even supposed to be doing to advance the gane, and it felt like we'd be playing forever. It ended up making game night feel like a chore.
Opening the first 2-3 crates is fun and the exploration is always interesting but the endgame is unbalanced and broken. The only way we could open the last crate and find the final island was by collaborating as a group and agreeing to take the actions necessary to do so.
