But I wouldn’t consider any Scotland trip complete without getting to the highlands.
The Highlands are beautiful, you have Inverness, Loch Ness, Loch Lomond, and Eilean Donan Castle, then in Isle of Skye you have a lot of hiking, I agree the risks of hiking alone should not be ignored, have a cell phone plan, let someone know your path and check in regularly.
Personally, I would spend more time in the highlands and less in Glasgow.
