Pros

  • The last on the list was Schlage Encode Plus. I wasn't the biggest fan of how it looked, but finally decided to give it a shot and holy shit do I love it... The homekit integration is flawless. In fact, I did the initial setup without ev...
  • Same lock. Looks like my issue is a missing app I didn’t know about.
  • I have Schlage Encode Plus locks and get a notification from the Schlage app when the batteries are low on the locks. The keypad on the lock also blinks red when the batteries are low.
  • The exact same thing was happening to me and found this post. Tried multiple times to connect via Schlage app on my android phone, reset wifi, restarted phone, etc. Tried it on my ipad after reading this and connected quickly. After conn...
  • I put 5 Schlage encode plus models on the main doors; I’ve used Schlage smart locks for years and they work great. These are matter/thread locks that work great with apple home and also work great as simple dumb keypad locks.

Cons

  • So far you've received a bunch of incompatible suggestions: ❌ Schlage Encode Plus, deadbolt
  • Parent context: I am getting close to the "return it" stage... Reply: Huh. My wife tried it for her iPad and it fucking worked. Both of our Androids failed.
  • I had the exact same problem setting up my second Schlage encode plus and after a couple hours of resetting the lock and messing with the wifi, I found that my phone had auto connected back to the 5g wifi.
  • It absolutely WILL NOT connect. ... It flashes slow blue, then fast blue, then it beeps and flashes red+blue, then beeps again and a red LED. The dumb app just spins and spins and spins.
  • I am looking at the Schlage Encode Plus but I am unsure if it will fit on this door.

The last on the list was Schlage Encode Plus. I wasn't the biggest fan of how it looked, but finally decided to give it a shot and holy shit do I love it... The homekit integration is flawless. In fact, I did the initial setup without ever installing the schlage app so it 100% works with HomeKit only for me. HomeKey is super speedy and hasn't yet failed me.

The exact same thing was happening to me and found this post. Tried multiple times to connect via Schlage app on my android phone, reset wifi, restarted phone, etc. Tried it on my ipad after reading this and connected quickly. After connecting the encode plus through the iPad, I could then adjust settings through the schlage app on my android.

I think the plus uses Thread that’s why it uses less battery

Schlage Encode Plus works without wifi. I set it up using Matter and operate it with HomeKit/BT.
