Santa Monica
Reddit take
Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.
Pros
- Stay in Santa Monica or near Beverly Center for a few days, and stay in Anaheim for the Disneyland day/night.
- Sure- go beach it up in Santa Monica and then rent a cabin up in Big Bear for a night or two
- Not the worst take. Start in San Diego, take it in for a few, rent a convertible, drive to Santa Barbara. Manhattan Beach. Hermosa Beach, much better stops. Santa Monica and Venice are funky and interesting.
- If you stick mainly to the west side (eg, Santa Monica, Venice, UCLA/Westwood, Getty Museum), then you’ll be fine.
- For our 1 1/2 days there I'm considering staying in Santa Monica, going to the Getty Museum and Griffith Observatory, potentially LACMA and checking out the pier/oceanfront.
