San Francisco International Airport

Pros

• SFO. Don’t miss the golden gate if you’re ever choosing a city to travel in US.
• I don’t think I’ve ever heard a useful or interesting airport announcement. They are pointless and a bit maddening. I prefer quiet airports like SFO. No announcements except at your gate for boarding.
• SFO has a coffee making robot that's kind of interesting to watch. In terminal 4, there's an outdoor terrace at the very west side that you can go sit on lounge chairs in the fresh air, and watch planes.
• I fly out of SFO, which does not have the TSA issues that other airports have.

Cons

• I can count the times I've flown in/out of SFO on time on one finger. The runway is right on San Francisco Bay, so fog, wind, etc. are constant and wreak havoc on flight schedules regularly.
• Myself and son are considering flight tickets from London to Australia transiting through LAX or SFO. Motivation for considering US transit is that the flights are about half the price of taking the normal Asia routes right now.
• I would pick SFO only because the hugest line to clear customs I've ever been in was in DFW
• Keep in mind that 90min is still pretty tight for an international arrival, since you must clear customs and re-clear security even without checked bags.
