Pros
- Salomon (Switzerland)
- Heard good things about Salomon as well, although mostly from the crowd that uses low boots.
- you could also look at Salomon but they’re made in China - still OK quality.
- Salomon: If having contacts in US who can bring stuff, definitely a great choice.
- The brands I've found that are the best for my narrow heels are Salomon and Asolo. Their heel cups are very sturdy and narrow. They're both pretty narrow in the midfoot, too.
Cons
- Don’t buy Salomon, quality is downhill, they are just a fashion brand now. Search for something that actually performs, like LaSportiva or Scarpa.
- My main gripe with Salomon’s are how inconsistent their sizing is. I have tried and used different models for different purposes, and it seems like each one of them have differences in size even tho they are all considered 9.5 US
- Keep your outer layer logo-light. Big Patagonia, Arc’teryx, Salomon, or Decathlon logos signal “traveler/hiker” immediately.
- They fit me the best and have lasted me the longest, successfully longer than Keen and Salomon.
- The ones from Salomon are not the best for my plans, and I paid with 25% more on thouse vs the red and blue ones, but I can bet theat I'll find a good use for them one day also

I concur that both Salomon and Oboz are both a super solid choice.
