Rouge

Pros

• I liked Rouge more than I liked Bunny, but I can see I'm an outlier on that!
• I hated Bunny, loved Rouge. I think it's a matter of different tastes, because i tore through it.
• I wouldn’t say there’s a dramatic twist, you can kind of see where the story is going, but I found the main character arc to be well crafted and satisfying in the end. Granted, I absolutely devoured Rouge like you read Bunny
• *Rouge* or *Bunny* by Mona Awad.

Cons

• I finished it after slogging through it…honestly I’m still not sure what is up with the Tom Cruise
• I finished it purely out of spite and to see how many references to Tom Cruise she could fit (spoiler: literally hundreds).
• I hated it but if you like Tom Cruise you can stick it out.
• Also as an aside, adjectives like “redly” and “whitely” are cute but not when I see them every 2 pages 😩
• I get that Rouge is a retelling of Snow White, but about 100 pages in it just feels corny with too much heavy-handed fairytale reference and obvious foreshadowing. I also strongly suspect I may have already predicted the entire story…
