Ira Levin wrote several classic horror and thriller novels like Rosemary's Baby, The Boys from Brazil, The Stepford Wives, and A Kiss Before Dying.

Rosemary's Baby is absolutely fantastic. I have not read another book that portrays pure claustrophobia as well as this one does.

I listened to the audiobook for Rosemary’s Baby and then The Stepford Wives immediately after this fall and loved them both because of how much they made me feel. The audiobook version of RB that I listened to was also narrated by Mia Farrow, which was pretty cool!

All the paranormal/satanic stuff is the least scary part of the book in comparison with the level of gaslighting, manipulation, and abuse Rosemary goes through. ... It's a great book.

I still remember the feeling I had when Rosemary is starting to put the pieces together. Masterfully written passage.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit!

Everything that's happened so far (where I stopped, she just told Hutch she's pregnant) is absolutely terrifying to me in a primal way. ... I literally feel my heart beating faster and harder every time I pick up this book. This is not a critique (quite the opposite), and I'll power through it

Honestly even if you're a person for whom the enjoyment of a thing hinges on a total lack of spoilers (I can relate, personally), Rosemary's Baby is still worth a watch as a horror fan. You'll be able to see so much of the inspiration for tons of other horror in it, it was pretty groundbreaking in some ways and it's one I think you'll be glad you experienced. Quality, enjoyable film and a true classic.

It's a total vibe. The directing, the apartment, the decor, the actors, the outfits, the helicopter footage of the Dakota building, the sense of doom and oppressive heat of a NY summer. Worth watching once a year.
