Roland FP-90X

Pros

• Yeah the 550 seems like a decent option, but having tried a Roland recently I would have said the Roland FP-90X.
• It’s SUPER hard to get any information about the modeling engine on the Nuvola EX, but it must be different than the modeling engine on the FP-90x which I played and thought felt great.
• The FP-90X is more expensive, but it also has the PHA-50 keybed which most closely emulates the touch and feel of a real acoustic piano. They are both portable, have onboard speakers, and are suitable for intermediate level pianists.
• The next step up in terms of the quality of the keybed and sounds would be a Yamaha P-525, a Roland FP-90X, or Kawai ES-920.
• I felt like this about my FP-90x when it first arrived but I grew to really like it over time. Now I love playing on it. It has more resistance than my old Korg and the touch feels softer but still allows for very accentuated playing.

Cons

• Parent context: Wait I check out f90x, it doesn’t even have the frame and the integrated 3 piano pedals, just a wired sustain pedal. This is my current setup, why would I want this over fp550, same price but with frame and integrated ped...
• I think the FP-90X would be the closest equivalent to the Kawai ES920 but I think it trades a less realistic keybed for some more advanced tech in other areas (such as support for USB audio which lets you hook up an iPad or laptop and us...
• I have this and a Roland FP-90x, which is their $2700 flagship, and I find myself always gravitating to the acoustic.
• Models to consider are Kawai ES120/520/920, Roland FP-30X /60X/90X, Yamaha P525.
