Pros

  • Rise is the most action packed game.
  • I prefer the more action oriented game of Rise .
  • While Rise is definitely the more well paced and constantly exciting adventure, I found Shadow's increased focus on actual tombs, more interesting navigation and exploration, much more interesting setting and environmental design, more c...
  • My 13-year old was watching me play the beginning of 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' on PC and was really caught up by the graphics and big, dynamic setpieces (and the overall excitement that all provides) of the opening scene up on the mountain.
  • I'm sorry you didn't like it but I found it enjoyable.

Cons

  • I thought Rise of the Tomb raider was a lackluster rehash of the first with a silly story and much less interesting setting.
  • Where that story was mostly just incredibly generic, dumb and uninteresting... I personally did enjoy Shadow more than Rise, but I wouldn't say it's a better game. They both are lackluster sequels to TR2013 in their own ways. And while R...
  • So, after my (disappointing) revisit of Rise of the Tomb Raider, it was time to finally give Shadow of the Tomb Raider a chance.
  • I liked the story better in 1 but 2 definitely had the better gameplay and a really solid story. It's just hard to top a kickass origin story
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider to me is overshadowed by it's own DLC set in Lara's mansion which to me was way more interesting and fun to explore than the semi-open world we got... In Short, Rise did the tombs better so I prefer it over 2013....

I love the whole trilogy but I think rise just took everything from the first game and made it better, in terms of combat, exploration, tomb raiding and environments. Only thing that I didn't like was the story but all three games had mediocre to god awful writing to be honest
