From early april to early may I have been to Rhodes, Mallorca, Malaga/Cordoba. Andalucia is my top pick, because of the beautiful architecture and lively feel. I bet Seville is magical that time of year. But greek and spanish islands in early spring is also very special with an amazing amount of flowers, very tranquil.
Culture and history, definitely Rhodes. But Rhodes has much more interesting historical stuff to see than Corfu.
