Pros
- I’ve been looking at the rework toshi - there are a lot of videos on it but it’s not in stores so haven’t seen it in person. It looks like it has a lot of what you are looking for. Except, it may be on the small side for if you want to t...
- I just posted about Rework Toshi. It’s similar to CPP2 in many ways, but it’s more comfortable for some people. You and I are same height and weight, but our build still could be very different.
- I just got the rework Toshi. It’s a bit taller, but a few women around your height mentioned how comfortable it was for them due to the less rigid but nicely padded nature of the bag. It’s also designed to carry two laptops.
- Toshi material does not look cheap at all. It was one of my worries based on pics and Reddit reactions. It seems to be on par with Aer, and the material actually has a more premium look than the 840D Aer used in the Pro Pack lines. Rewor...
- Take a look at Able Carry, Aer, Rework Toshi, Alpaka Gear, Evergoods, Sympl and Black Ember. All these brand are relatively expensive, but will last.
Cons
- Sympl Commuter 2 or rework toshi
- There’s no padding in the main compartment. Most bags I’ve owned have at least some insulation between the shell and the inner lining. While this is a bit disappointing, at least it doesn’t seem to affect laptop protection
- The front admin pockets are very similar. That and the thin ass webbing on the straps. I can see it more with the 20L Toshi, but the CPP2 is 24L! No way the webbing should be that small.
- I love the it. Legitimately. I work remotely and change location almost daily, this bag has made life better. It’s compact, well-organised, comfortable… and dare I say it, brings me a little joy. But… I do have a major grip. It a tech ba...
- I like the Rework Toshi 20L but as the name implies, it's smaller than 25L.

I’ve been looking at the rework toshi - there are a lot of videos on it but it’s not in stores so haven’t seen it in person. It looks like it has a lot of what you are looking for. Except, it may be on the small side for if you want to take a couple days of clothes.

Toshi material does not look cheap at all. It was one of my worries based on pics and Reddit reactions. It seems to be on par with Aer, and the material actually has a more premium look than the 840D Aer used in the Pro Pack lines. Rework laptop is well protected. It has two padded and suspended sleeves. The false bottom is about 1 inch thick and has a hard plastic piece at the back to prevent it from crumpling.

I have both! I love both! Before I received my Toshi 2.5L, I used to call the Essent my mini Toshi. The x-pac is nice, and so is the organization. I think my reason for always picking the Toshi over the Essent is the shape when carried. I love how the Toshi expands or contracts depending on the contents. And I love how it feels like it can hug my back or chest to create a slimmer profile when being worn
I've seen everyone and their dog recommending the Rework Toshi because of how feature-rich it is and its capacity
If you don't need a bag as big as your TNF Surge, then the Rework Toshi is a sweet bag
