Pros

  • Thankfully it was just good enough to convince me to try another resident evil, which was 7 and that made me fall in love with the series
  • I really loved how terrifying and atmospheric the game was while adoring how it changed up its horror influences, jumping in style from horror movie to horror movie. There's a lot of variety, especially in the dlc. It's one of my favouri...
  • I quite enjoyed 7 because it brought it back to its true horror roots. Not knowing when Jack would pop out was stress inducing.
  • Easily the scariest RE game in a walk. Jack and Marguerite are a terrifying duo.
  • I found re7 pretty scarey actually especially the molded. It was more of a experience then a gameplay focused game.

Cons

  • Lastly, I got through 2-3 hours of Resident Evil 7 and absolutely, positively could not handle it.
  • Tbh i had to put it down, too fkn scary 😂😂 i beat every other re though.
  • Parent context: The game is good, but F me, Ethan is the slowest game character ever. The developers really overdid the movement speed – and getting those Walking Shoes felt like they were laughing in my face. Reply: I'd tip toe around a...
  • Resident Evil 7 is one of the most mixed bags I’ve ever played... It starts out not feeling like Resident Evil at all... but then when it turns you loose, it becomes great. ... The game stays like that for a while, before a massive drop...

Parent context: The game is good, but F me, Ethan is the slowest game character ever. The developers really overdid the movement speed – and getting those Walking Shoes felt like they were laughing in my face. Reply: I'd tip toe around anyway, scared of what might be around the corner. Never felt the need to be faster.

RE7 feels immersive and rarely holds your hand. The best example of this is the birthday videotape and subsequent section of Ethan’s journey. ... The videotapes themselves are a genius move. Making essentially cutscenes that expand the story into full gameplay segments is engaging and terrifying
