Pros
- I liked the shooting but loved the world and puzzles. Some of the stuff we found was absurd. A truly wonderful game.
- fun 4-player online co-op. You can even mod it and the game will keep on running. The DLC is also worth it.
- Overall tho I liked the second game more. The story was pretty bad in both games, so we're the characters. The gameplay was the selling point and they both do that well enough but in 2 I can have a permanent dog so
- Oh, you and me both. It was such a unique fight, and learning the patterns and angles and positioning was so much fun.
- That cube boss was quite possibly one of the most fun boss fights I've played in years. I absolutely loved it.
Cons
- Really one of my favorite games in the last five years, but yeah, the story is god awful. The one big disappointment for me was that the DLCs felt so lazy compared to the first one.
- Felt like Remnant 2 gave me gamer whiplash. One moment I’m spearing demons to the wall like Buffy, next I’m rage rolling through dialogue that reads like someone’s rejected NaNoWriMo entry 😂 Weapon variety? Chef’s kiss. But that ending?...
- The weapon variety is superb. Every new weapon felt superior to the last. ... The co-op quality of life experience is a bit questionable. ... The gunplay is fun and I enjoyed the level building. Co-op is great. ... Just do yourself a fav...
- For whatever reason I couldn't get into this one. Some of the boss fights are awesome, really big highlights. The encounters with regular enemies are usually pretty boring though and I think thats part of the reason I didn't have much in...

Remnant 2 was my favourite game of 2023. I love it so much.
Felt like Remnant 2 gave me gamer whiplash. One moment I’m spearing demons to the wall like Buffy, next I’m rage rolling through dialogue that reads like someone’s rejected NaNoWriMo entry 😂 Weapon variety? Chef’s kiss. But that ending? Felt like I got ambushed by a lore gremlin on bath salts
The weapon variety is superb. Every new weapon felt superior to the last. ... The co-op quality of life experience is a bit questionable. ... The gunplay is fun and I enjoyed the level building. Co-op is great. ... Just do yourself a favor and never actually finish the game because there is no salvaging that ending.
For whatever reason I couldn't get into this one. Some of the boss fights are awesome, really big highlights. The encounters with regular enemies are usually pretty boring though and I think thats part of the reason I didn't have much interest in exploring different builds or collecting resources to upgrade different weapons. I like the visual design but performance was hit and miss on initial release and seemed exactly the same more than a year later when I set out to finish it.
