AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Redmi Pad Pro is frequently recommended as a high-value, large-screen tablet that balances performance and price. Users generally find it smooth for daily tasks and media consumption, often comparing it favorably to the Samsung S9 FE in terms of value. While its 12.1-inch screen is a major draw for movies and split-screen multitasking, some users find the physical footprint too large for comfortable handheld use.

Pros

  • Large 12.1-inch display with 3k resolution is well-suited for media and split-screen use.
  • Smooth performance, particularly on the 8GB RAM model.
  • Includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is increasingly rare in modern tablets.
  • Capable of being used as a secondary monitor for computers (wired or wireless).
  • Good battery life with reports of slow drainage during use.

Cons

  • Large size can feel uncomfortable or 'too big' for handheld use.
  • Viewing angles and peak brightness are reported as mediocre, especially in direct sunlight.
  • Stylus and keyboard are typically sold separately, increasing the total cost.
  • Software optimization is noted to be less polished than Samsung's tablet ecosystem.

Caveats

  • While the smart pen is praised for writing, it may lack the pressure and angle precision required for professional art compared to an iPad.
  • One user specifically noted it was 'useless' for their note-taking needs, though others found the writing experience excellent.
  • The device is essentially identical to the Poco Pad under different branding.

Best for

  • Media consumption (movies and gaming) on a budget.
  • Students looking for a large-screen device for writing and research.
  • Users needing an affordable secondary portable monitor.

Avoid if

  • You require a compact, one-handed tablet experience.
  • You are a professional digital artist needing top-tier stylus sensitivity.
  • You frequently use your tablet outdoors in bright sunlight.

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median source age of approximately 398 days, which may affect the relevance of performance and software claims for this fast-changing product category.

Redmi Pad Pro is used by kids to watch movies and play some games. It is useless for note taking.

Eyestrain is non existent in redmi pad pro. As for the stylus, its own smart pen will work really nicely. The only issue that might arise is on actual art design that needs tweaking on pressure and angle of pen which will be trickier than on ipad. As for keyboard, any Bluetooth keyboard will do, but its own keyboard case is awesome. I find myself writing more on it than my laptop.

Parent context: I have seen Honor pad 9 and redmi pad Pro which are very good Reply: it is worth its price if you get it under 250eur. it has a 12.7" 3k display. only concern is its brightness. if you are going to use it under direct sunlight then ignore this. Performence is also good. Yeah it is definately worth the extra money if you get it under 250eur.
