Pros
- You should be able to find a Rancilio Silvia Pro X for about $2000. I’ve been using it daily for about two years and don’t want anything else. It’s perfect if you dig the somewhat brutal aesthetics.
- But if you don't want to play around much and you just want to pull classic Italian espresso, a Rancilio Silvia Pro x or The Dual Boiler Gaggia Classic would be really good options too.
- Parent context: I would buy a mazzer mini g, it's more, but way better than the eureka grinders, if you want to fit in the budget, than the philos. If you want new than the timemore. Reply: I feel like at this point I’m already in too d...
- Just ordered a rancilio Silvia pro X last night and now it’s time to order a grinder!!!!
- I just bought the Rancilio Silvia pro x and it’s a dual boiler and wow coming from a bambino I think the shot which was my first taste better than any drink I’ve had in years with the bambino plus being able to steam the milk while I wai...
Cons
- I don't recommend the Rancilio Silvia Pro X. It lacks QoL features that the other two has. It does not have programmable set-and-forget auto-on/off (you have to do it every single day), it has non-human readable menu programming, it has...
- I've been leaning towards the rancillo Silvia pro x but now that I'm actually able to buy it I'd love some input.
- Pros of the Rancilio: High durability, fixability when broken or needing repairs, better steam, more consistent shots. Cons of Rancilio: Long heat up times, especially for the steam (20-30 minutes is unacceptable)
- My experience was going from a Gaggia Classic pro & encore, to a Sette 270, then the Rancilio Silvia Pro X and the Specialita.
- Parent context: the Rancilio Silvia Pro X would be a great option—it's got a PID, dual boiler, and 120V support, but I get that you don’t like the design as much. Reply: Yeah may not be aesthetically pleasing but gets the job done I suppose

Reply: I feel like at this point I’m already in too deep so maybe I’ll splurge, $2100 for the Silvia pro x, what’s another $1300 for a grinder. I’ll probably have both for a very very long time.

I just bought the Rancilio Silvia pro x and it’s a dual boiler and wow coming from a bambino I think the shot which was my first taste better than any drink I’ve had in years with the bambino plus being able to steam the milk while I wait for the shot is great
I don't recommend the Rancilio Silvia Pro X. It lacks QoL features that the other two has. It does not have programmable set-and-forget auto-on/off (you have to do it every single day), it has non-human readable menu programming, it has fake pre-infusion that doesn't do much, and it has the world's worst drip tray.

$2,500 will easily buy you a PID Dual Boiler Machine, just not an E61. Think: Lelit Elizabeth, Rancilio Silvia Pro X, Profitec Move.
Rancilio Silvia Pro X + MHW-3Bomber F74 Navigator grinder + the usual accessories. All done and good to go for several years until you inevitably upgrade.
I have a rancilio Silvia pro x with a niche grinder. I pull beautiful espresso with great crema.
