Radiolab

Pros

• Not quite aligned to your specific ask but everything by NPR Radiolab, i adore it and i learn a lot.
• There were many seasons of Radiolab that were outstanding; they really set a high standard for informative and fascinating podcasts. I certainly learned a lot listening.
• recently, I listened to an old episode of Radiolab I’d never heard before — classic, top-tier Jad and Robert storytelling — and holy shit, I couldn’t listen for five minutes without checking something else on my phone.
• Early podcasts like Radiolab and This American Life (which I know are radioshows), but they were well thought out and focused on getting the essential information out in 30-60 minutes.
• highly produced nonfiction storytelling / reporting in single episode formats (like Invisibilia, Radiolab, This American Life, etC).

Cons

• Oh man, sadly, also my Radiolab which seems to have been infected by it's project 'Radiolab for Kids'. Way too much fake canned laughter.
• Radiolab used to be one of the podcasts I would recommend to folks straightaway. Now I unfortunately no longer recommend it to anyone :( I still subscribe just to listen to some of the reruns sometimes. There's way too much over talking...
• The parasite episode was one of the most interesting episodes of any podcast ever! I’ll occasionally remember Radiolab and try putting it on and always end up turning it off. It just doesn’t pull me in and it’s not memorable like those e...
• new Radiolab triggers my misophonia maybe worse of any podcast I’ve listened to. The guys voice is almost unbearable - add all the stylized stuff that almost feels like parody and it’s out of my rotation.
• There seemed to be a branch in the path around 2015-ish maybe, where the show seemingly stopped being Radiolab and stayed trying to be This American Life. The science aspect dropped off and the experiential(?) came to the fore.
