PR has a ton to see and do, much of which is arguably better than Maui. Old San Juan is awesome, the forests are insane, other islands you can go to for a day or longer, world class beaches and snorkeling…
For a longer trip Puerto Rico is often less expensive than other Caribbean destinations and is lots of fun.
