Pros

• Ive heard good reviews for Protectli V1610 16Ram for $365.
• Alternatively, Protectli also has 10G options.
• And when you’re ready for more, you take your config and migrate to a dedicated Protectli box
• We just buy Protectlis and install pfsense if the customer really doesn’t want fortigate. Hardware is less expensive and doesn’t fail like the awful cheap Netgate appliances.
• Anyway don't buy their hardware, it's kinda crap and expensive. Just get a generic firewall rack device. Or a Protectcli for smaller installations.

Cons

• As for hardware, you can used just about anything. You don’t need to buy a special brand. And anyway Protectli just rebadge Qotom and CWWK systems anyway so they aren’t anything special.
• FYI Protectli is the same Chinese hardware you find in the likes of machines from CWWK/Topton. You're just paying Protectli a shit load more for support.
• I had thought a lot about those mini-appliances, like protectli or whatnot, but the power draw on the ebay computer is so low that the breakeven point was like 7 years out.
