Prophet 5

Pros

• the prophet is a really cool analog synth but it depends on what u are planning to do with it
• i love it don’t get me wrong, but im thinking maybe i should’ve seen what else is it there poly wise?
• I’d put this one right up next to Greg Hawkes Prophet 5 and Gary Numan’s Memorymoog as one of the most historical pieces.
• people who yearn for the legendary prophet 5 and Oberheim synths generally discount the Rev2 as an option.
• Compared to that a Prophet 5 is mind-boggingly versatile. :)

Cons

• This is worlds beyond the Prophet 5, DX7, and drum sequencers I used in the 80s
• how many Prophet 5's have you played on and had the chance to compare..?
• which includes Prophet 5, Jupiter 6 and 8, ARP 2600 justto namea few..
• While they all sound great I prefer the sounds of the Rev 2 and OBX8 over the Prophet 5 which sounds a little plain, thick and not expansive and dimensional like the other 2
• Regrettably, it was processed through a Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Water pedal which I forgot to disengage and put in bypass. I believe this is why the P5 sounds out of tune. The LFO on the pedal was set very slow and happened to drift...
