Profitec Ride

Pros

• If you like old school designs, the Profitec Ride should fall into your budget. That machine could outlive you and it is incredibly versatile, thanks to the E61 brew group.
• If you can pick up the machine budget a tiny bit, the Profitec Ride without flow control is only $100 more than the budget ($2,600).
• I love the look of the black ride with the wood accents!
• Personally, I would choose the ride ( in black) simply because the Profitec build quality is likely to be better.
• The Profitec Ride has more “modern” features and is the newer machine

Cons

• for that $2500ish look at the izzo alex duetto 4, quickmill vetrano or quickmill qm67 evo, profitec ride or pro400, lelit bianca v3, rancilio silva pro x, ascaso steel duo.
• They also have the Ride which is a lower-level dual boiler with flow control options, but doesn't have the rotary pump, etc.
• Parent context: Active vs Passive pre-infusion seems to be a marketing phrase. Active: the pump is running. Passive: the water is percolating with the pump off. Active is documented as having two end conditions pressure and time but I'd...
• My Profitec Ride has active and passive “pre-infusion” and flow control. I haven’t messed with the pre infusion settings too much and feel like maybe that could help.
