Pros

  • Portrait of a Lady lasts around two days on my skin, through showers. The second day it loses most of its projection, but it's still slightly more than a skin scent.
  • Portrait Of A Lady is a masterpiece in my opinion.
  • It’s a nice, luxurious scent imo. The dry down is sweet and consistent.
  • I think if you want something less overwhelming and airy go for portrait of a lady
  • Parent context: Be unapologetic when it comes to perfume, had portrait of a lady on at the office today Reply: Very much each to their own, and Portrait of a Lady is such a beautiful perfume I’d be very happy smelling it in the wild, but...

Cons

  • She does not like: Portrait of a Lady
  • Portrait of a Lady
  • I wish I could temporarily borrow the scent receptors of people who LOVE Portrait of a Lady and understand the high praise. It’s just rancid to me
  • I bought Portrait of a Lady three years ago for $700. It was my most wanted scent. I realized this year I only used it once, and it made me sad because it’s not an every day scent.
  • the cosmetic note that turned me off Portrait of a Lady worked in this scent

Parent context: Please explain, why portrait of a lady? I have this perfume in a small decant and I'm curious about what could be the problem with it. Reply: I adore it and sneak into the shop to get a squirt every now and then (cannot justify the price for a full bottle). But when I do, everyone comments "Oh you went to Mecca again!" It's just so powerful. It's walking down a city street at night, being lured into a dark alley by a seductive voice, and then being violently beaten by a huge bunch of red Lincoln roses who then steal your wallet.
