Pompeii is amazing, too.
I desperately want to see Pompeii so it doesn’t make sense adding another location in.
To me, Pompeii was amazing. I have seen a number of Roman ruins, and for the most part, they are places that fell apart over time. Pompei was a thriving city one day and then the next it was covered in ash. Walking around it is like walking back into the past. It was cool to see a bunch of basically identical shops throughout the city.
Same applies to Pompeii, it's nice but can prove exhausting.
Forget Pompeii you'd be spending more time on a tourist bus or train than actually visiting.
I love Pompeii, but it is a huge site with so much to take in.

On your way to Naples, you could make a day trip and visit Pompeii or Herculaneum if that is something that interests you.
