  • If you really want to get him a color e-ink device I recommend the Pocketbook InkPad Color 3. It’s 8” and a dedicated ereader so you don’t have to worry about Android apps and distractions.
  • I read PDFs on Pocketbook Inkpad Color 3 and even I could read them on my IPad, I prefer Pocketbook with Koreader.
  • Now, on Monday, I love it and am debating buying a second PocketBook. What changed? 1. I can put (drm-free) books I have and got from anywhere on it. It's not even sideloading, it's just loading. No need to convert them before hand or se...

At first I thought the Inkpad was too big for bedtime reading, as it's a bit heavy and my hands were getting more tired than me. However, lately I've been propping up the Inkpad on a pillow, so I can lay on my side without holding it. Having the buttons on the bottom make turning pages easier and with mangas I definetly appreciate the extra ~1".

Now, on Monday, I love it and am debating buying a second PocketBook. What changed? 1. I can put (drm-free) books I have and got from anywhere on it. It's not even sideloading, it's just loading. No need to convert them before hand or send through Kindle's sendtoKindle feature

I picked up a PocketBook Inkpad Color 3 last week. Adjusting to it was terrible. Felt super slow (coming from a *super snappy* Book Go with android) and didn't have the customisation options in the standard reader app. Manga and comics looked horrible/the formatting was off and I couldn't get any of the resizing options to work. I was ready to return it. Now, on Monday, I love it and am debating buying a second PocketBook.

I chose Pocketbook InkPad Color 3. ... The screen is big enough for me. The quality of the colors is great for an e-ink device. It’s built sturdy but light enough. I like the position of the buttons. And I like the design which is a highly subjective reason but it pleases me.

Pocketbook InkPad Color 3. It has buttons (and I think they have a menu option to disable or reprogram screen touches), pretty sure you can turn the light off, and you can use PocketBook email or cloud services to send books to the device.
