After, I headed back to Pisa where I took my obligatory photos before heading back to Florence in the evening.
People say this is overrated and I agree. Not worth going out of the way to, but glad we stopped on the way.
Otherwise your plans look OK though Pisa, largely destroyed by allies in ww2 is often not the most compelling location.
If you want to tick the leaning tower off your list, a day trip from Lucca to Pisa is worthwhile, otherwise, there’s really no reason to go there.
We did a Pompeii day trip and a Pisa half day trip.

Pisa is great, it's a univestity town and there's a lot to see and do beyond the Torre Pendente.
Head north-west out of Italy by train. Hop your way through Florence, Pisa, or Genoa for another 7 days.
Everything looks pretty good EXCEPT I would see Pisa as part of your traveling around Tuscany time and cut the overnight there. It's basically just the tower and not much else IMO.
