The natural highlight of our trip was the world wonder of Petra. And WOW, Petra really does not disappoint. From seeing the first morning rays shine onto the Treasury when walking through Al-Siq the first time (Pic #4) and strolling past the Street Of Facades (Pic #5) with camels and donkeys on the way (Pic #6), to reach the spectacular Monastery (Pic #7) after a short but grueling hike, ascending 800 stone steps. Rather overrated and quite exensive for such a short experience in our opinion: Petra by night (Pic #8).
For me Petra and Wadi Rum are the two main highlights of Jordan.
I went to Petra from Aqaba and walked around a lot. Not just the super popular things but lots of places where I was pretty much the only person. Came back in the evening and felt I had enough time there.

100% safe but be mentally ready for the bad driving, trust that there is a method to the madness.
Petra - Jordan (the last of the 7 wonders for me!)
Ignoring the war, flying to Jordan (I assume Amman?) and then having to travel to and from Petra, seems a weirdly rushed trip. You could easily spend 2 full days at Petra and not see everything. I guess I question if it’s really worth the risk for such a short trip?
