Pros

  • The Patagonia Black Hole 25L is surprisingly stylish in the matte finishes
  • if you mean the "pufferfish gold" - i've seen other patagonia bags in that color in my local REI, and I like it! it's different enough to stand out, but not so vibrant as to be gaudy!
  • Black Hole 25L is a nice bag. I could easily do a 2 night trip with just that bag as my only item. It is small enough to be a personal item on a flight, and it's also a great size to use as a day bag as you walk around Vegas.
  • The Black Hole 25l stands out as a strong contender. Particularly light travelers seem to suggest it, alone, can serve in a one bag travel trip. This gives me confidence that it might work for what I’m shooting for. The top pocket seems...
  • Patagonia black hole 25L. Great daily and I’ve traveled a lot with it in warmer months. Laptop and tablet sleeves, low profile handle on the front, very water resistant except for zippers.

Cons

  • BH bags are nice, but they are just a hole. External quick access is usually 1-2 pockets and not super well designed to hold stuff. BH 25/32 both have this great feature of putting a QAP on the lid, which then becomes super floppy if you...
  • They have black hole 25L, but it does not have a clamshell opening, and more suited as a hiking daypack hybrid.
  • I just got a Patagonia Black Hole 25L one bag overnight trips but thinking of returning it for the Aer City Pack Pro 2z
  • The two models I’ve shortlisted are: - Alpaka Bravo 23L - Patagonia Black Hole 25L They both seem “serious but functional,” but I’m not 100% convinced by either especially regarding how well they protect a laptop.

BH bags are nice, but they are just a hole. External quick access is usually 1-2 pockets and not super well designed to hold stuff. BH 25/32 both have this great feature of putting a QAP on the lid, which then becomes super floppy if you use it (bothers me, but not all).

The Black Hole 25l stands out as a strong contender. Particularly light travelers seem to suggest it, alone, can serve in a one bag travel trip. This gives me confidence that it might work for what I’m shooting for. The top pocket seems like a great spot for my AirPods and small battery pack, the front stash pocket could hold a book (from the looks of it) and perhaps some other things, dual water bottle slots leaves room for a bottle on one side and some snacks on the other, and my iPad would certainly fit in the sleeve.

I fly with the Black Hole 25L which is awesome and more manageable under seat.
