I visited the Cappucini Museum and then the area around the Pantheon, where I had a Roman style pizza for lunch.
The first time I was just walking around, turned a corner and was suddenly in front of the pantheon.
Anecdotally, the Pantheon was extremely easy for me to get into without advanced tickets - I did have to line up but the line moved very quickly.
there was no line (we had pre booked tickets) and little crowds. as we left a huge line had formed so I definitely recommend going there early.

I then walked back to my hotel and went into st Paul's cathedral around 7pm (It is very quiet at this time. You should be able to avoid all the queues if you go towards closing time).

One quick FYI: March 7 is “First Sunday,” so the Pantheon will be free but you can’t buy tickets ahead of time, you’ll have to wait in person.
The Borghese gallery will be closed on Monday, January 4 (but otherwise I highly recommend, along with the Pantheon and at least a dinner and stroll in Trastevere).
