Pros

  • Pandemic Legacy Season 1 and 2 (and sorta 0) were some of our best gaming experiences ever. Really loved all the twists and turns, both from the story and from the gameplay.
  • Pandemic Legacy Season 1. It has a great narrative arc and works well with 2p.
  • I've played all three Pandemic Legacy board games, season 2 twice. (I'll reference that occasionally. Spoilers marked.)
  • I've played all three Pandemic Legacy board games, season 2 twice. ... (For example, Pandemic 2 does this really well with >!being able to explore and connect basically how much you want until Asia.!<)
  • My buddy and I have also had a blast playing through Pandemic Legacy season 1 and season 2 (which we are currently on).

Cons

  • I guess Spirit Island, Gloomhaven, Dune IMperium, Terraforming Mars, Brass Birmingham, Pandemic (and Pandemic Legacy), Gaia Project are all *fundamentally* single-player games and function no differently with other humans are involved.
  • To play it at that point as a normal game, without the legacy elements, can be near impossible depending on what components were altered /destroyed, and just wouldn't be fun.

If you want a longer game commitment, Gloomhaven (or the "Jaws of the Lion" standalone) or Pandemic Legacy are good picks.

Our family played this over the past three months, and when we were done I glued all the pieces where they were when we finished the game (with some light editorializing, so we weren't all stuck in Atlanta) and added on some Faded Figures coming out around our City Zero. Now we have this super cool piece of wall art!

If you've enjoyed Pandemic, then Pandemic Legacy Season 1 is top notch. ... I played it with a group this year, January through April (15 or 16 games) and it was a heck of a time.
