It is a beautiful country with friendly people. But it is also a poor developing country with its fair share of problems. As every other destination, it is a mixed bag of pros and cons. How those balance out is for everybody different. I would not recommend it for the 'average' western tourist, but for people with an 'adventurous spirit' it can be a very rewarding destination.
