My nieces and nephew all slept in Pack N Plays, I’m confident it’s safe for sleep!

My 2.5 month old has slept in a pack n play since she was born because I hated the idea of spending money on a bassinet that could only be used for a short time until she weighed too much to use it anymore, and we don't have the space in our bedroom for a crib. We have it at the bassinet height and have never had any problems. The sides are mesh, so in the event that baby managed to get up against the side, she would still be able to breathe. ... I would absolutely recommend this as a safe sleep setup.

My son slept in a pack n play every night for over a year (bassinet part until he outgrew it at 15lbs then the bottom)… I also didn’t want him in another room (weird house layout). Babies don’t care about the type of comfort of their sleeping space, so don’t worry about the thickness of the mattress.

I have a pack n play with a changing table attachment downstairs and a bassinet in my room upstairs and it’s a game changer to be able to do diaper changes and put baby down for a nap on either floor of my house.

I just use a Pack n Play with the full size bassinet insert thing in the top! Baby will outgrow a bassinet by around 4 months, so it's hardly worth spending a lot of money on something you cant use for a longer time.

Parent context: Is the pack n play comfortable enough in infant mode for everyday use? ... Reply: Don’t be. The venn diagram of sleep surfaces that are safe and sleep surfaces that an adult would call comfortable basically doesn’t have any overlap until after kiddo’s first birthday. The fact that it’s so firm is what makes it safe for babies.

This time around, I'm just doing pack n play since we get far more use out of that longer before switching to crib. Bonus points is that standard cribs and pack n plays are a dime a dozen on FB marketplace.

Honestly, I took a Pack n Play on my first toddler camping trip. It was bulky but it helped.
