- Oxford: a pretty city in Oxfordshire around an hour direct from Paddington. Famous for the university but you also have a castle, botanic gardens, market, numerous museums and the river
- Oxford is just outside the Cotswolds AONB, but the architecture, the honey coloured stone, the buildings etc are basically the capital of the Cotswolds. Go there, walk round town and enjoy the walks in the parks and by the river.

Heathrow to Oxford is very easy. ... Probably makes the most sense. Very walkable etc.
Oxford is pretty complete, loads of old pubs and restaurants, not to mention all the history and museums. You can also walk out of the city along the river and be in countryside pretty fast. It’s very easy to get to from London.
