• Outlander! It's all of these things across an entire series. I think you'll like the later books the best, but it's worth the time investment to make it to them.

• I loved the book (even with the hard-to-read scenes) but I always feel the need to give the disclaimer when suggesting it, because I know that that kind of material isn’t what everyone wants to read.
• one of the graphic scenes was so horrifying to her that she put aside Outlander and didn’t return to finish it for MONTHS. She didn’t even want to talk about it. The way she described it, the story was so magical until bam - graphic thin...
• Things I didn't like: Outlander.
• This is why I liked outlander although I eventually fell out of love with the series - it follows a married couple through the books (also trigger warning there’s physical abuse that may be hard for you to look past)
