Pros
- An exceptionally beautiful and polished game. It feels so fun and satisfying to move through this world, especially as you gain more powers. The platforming is incredibly fun and inventive, and the level design is some of the best I've s...
- I also felt Will of the Wisps was a big improvement, though not necessarily for the same reasons. ... Will of the Wisps feels like it "rounded out" the game. Combat is more interesting, light RPG elements were added, the map feels bigger...
- I'm happy to say Ori and the Will of the Wisps handles this much better. The gameplay involves a lot less fighting, the enemies that are there are less annoying, and the fighting is much more fun and intuitive, instead of feeling chaotic...
- B-Tier (pretty good games that I liked a lot with minor reservations): Astalon, [Redacted], Cathedral, [Redacted], F.I.S.T: Forged in Shadow Torch, Islets, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, The Messenger, HAAK, Alwa’s Legacy, Guacamelee 2,...
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a better game, but in large part because it copied HK's combat system.
Cons
- I just found it an ok game, nice graphics. Otherwise your run of the mill metroidvania.
- I also very much agree when it comes to Will of the Wisps. I started playing it, went "I'd rather be playing Hollow Knight instead" and then did that exact thing.
- The ori games are some of my favorite games of all time. I do agree though that the story was a bit off in WotW compared to the first one. ... The music and art still made everything super emotional, and I absolutely loved how they handl...
- How do you feel about the combat? I really did not like that they made combat more central to WoW - I felt it distracted from the much stronger platforming elements. Although the combat system is objectively much Better designed in WoW,...
- I don’t like that they added bosses. Didn’t the devs say they specifically chose not to add the to the first game because they didn’t fit the vision? Then they cave and add them to the sequel presumably due to focus groups or management...

Ori and the Will of the Wisps, while not exactly "AAA", is a pretty high production value game.
I really enjoyed this game but personally don't think the plot came close to touching the first game.
The ori games are some of my favorite games of all time. I do agree though that the story was a bit off in WotW compared to the first one. ... The music and art still made everything super emotional, and I absolutely loved how they handled the new villain's ending, but the story threads did not feel as satisfying as the first one for me.
