Plus the Sacred Valley is beautiful and there are wonderful things to see in Ollantaytambo
We stayed in Ollantaytambo for a few days, toured the valley, did MP and then went to Cuzco.
If Rainbow mountain has poor conditions when you want to go, use the day to visit Ollantaytambo, it’s my favorite town in the Sacred Valley.

Very much worth it and if you want to see incan ruins up close there is plenty of opportunity to do so in ollantaytambo and in cusco. In fact, those ruins are arguably much more interesting from a history standpoint.
Get to the village of Ollantaytambo and spend the night. I always use 3* hotels. They have private bathrooms, hot showers and breakfast daily.
