Pros
- If an email needs follow‑up, I just forward it to a dedicated Notion inbox (via Notion Mail).
- It's great, I am now to eager for them to release the mobile app (I assume it'll be on public launch day).
- It’s nice. Works well. I don’t have a lot to say about it except that it does email and seems to work. It’s fine. I am using it instead of my Gmail web interface on my computer.
- I'm sure notion's leadership knows building another office suite a-la microsoft/google isn't exactly visionary (although I am super excited for notion mail).
- I am really looking forward to notion mail - my excitement doubles if it won’t depend on me paying for notion AI
Cons
- It runs equally bad on android and ios. The app fails to load content from the notion databases regularly
- While I agree that it's still a very barebone product, that's not entirely true.
- Right now, 'Notion Mail' is mostly just an email client (like Outlook/Superhuman) with a Notion skin. It doesn't natively 'dump' emails into your existing Notion Databases or Projects effectively.
- The email baffled me. The app isn’t even that good and then to not have a way to send emails to Notion… crazy.
- Notion Mail and Notion Calendar are massive disappointments. I have clear, simple needs. Take an email or event and create a page in Notion tied to the email or event. Why both creating mail and calendar apps that don't do that???

When I open a thread, I first get a nice “conversation view” at the top (one bubble per message). However, inside each individual message, the full previous correspondence is included again as quoted text. That means I see the same content twice... In longer threads this becomes very cluttered and quite hard to read.
Notion Mail has still not registered as something I want to use. My main sticking point is that I want something that more concretely integrates into my Notion system. The only integration I can see is that I can @ a Notion page in my Notion Mail.
I tried mail and it doesn’t look like you can turn “conversation view” off. Not a fan of that view (maybe I’m the weird one…lol) and decided to just stick with the Gmail app.
Notion Mail is just a skin for Gmail. It's not a separate email service.
