Pros
- Northern Italy is my happy place, so I have to recommend that. I was there last year in late April and early May and the weather was perfect.
- Northern Italy in May is fantastic! The weather is usually perfect for exploring without the intense summer heat.
- you will not disapointed by the Northern part.
- I've also been to northern Italy circa 2008.
- Northern Italy is so underrated. Everyone raves about the Amalfi coast (rightfully so, it is beautiful) but so many beautiful places in the north that are not known well that I personally think are better.

Southern France (Camargue region) or Northern Italy might be interesting. Northern Italy also has some natural reserves (Po delta), lots of nice villages and cities and great food of course.
