Pros
- I will say I spent 6k for two people to do 5 days in Niseko + 9 days exploring the rest of the country.
- Was there at Niseko today and it was absolutely epic.
Cons
- Also, in February, all the resorts like in Biei or Niseko or anywhere you can ski are going to be very crowded and full of Australians. Every year there are more and more conflicts between the locals and the Australian skiers.
- Niseko, it’s like Bali but in the snow. Fucked.
- People saying Japan has lots of snow - go check a few of the seasons between 2015 and now. There was literal grass in Niseko in January. It’s also a hit or miss there nowadays. This season just happens to be a good one.
- Had this experience. Niseko was fookin' terrible. Was 47deg one day insane stuff. I think dirty secret is its not actually as consistent as they make it seem on instagram.
- Niseko isn’t perfect but it’s a world class resort with the best food and skiing anywhere.

Niseko… Quite possibly the most poorly operated resort I’ve been to. ... holy shit, this place is a total mess. It’s genuinely an order of magnitude worse than Whistler in terms of management.
Everyone just goes to Niseko because that's the place that caters to Westerners. There's no shortage of good skiing over and it's all way cheaper than Niseko.
The lift lines at the bottom suck but most lifts further up aren’t bad. Almost no lift lines in the evening too.
