Pros
- Montpellier is not worth two nights imo. Theres not as much to do there as compared to neighbouring cities such as Avignon, Arles and Nimes.
- french cities are a revelation compared to Paris - i’ve really loved Nimes, Rennes, Bessancon - and places like Turn antwerp bruges are fabulous for a couple of days and just don’t get the tourists.
- Of course Provence is gorgeous and easy to get to from Paris. A train to Avignon or Aix en Provence and then a rental car to get around to towns like Gordes, Lourmarin, Arles, Nimes, etc.
