Somewhat, I have experience traveling in places like India and Egypt where you need a higher level of street smarts and travel experience but in my opinion Nicaragua is a much more beginner friendly place to travel to even if it is poorer than India or Egypt in terms of wealth. It’s far less chaotic and logistics are much more manageable particularly if you’re following the tourist trail.
Safest in my experience are Uruguay, Chile, and Nicaragua.

Nicaragua is my favorite, diving in Utica is amazing , safe & affordable ..loved Bocas del Toro, skipped over most of CR.. went for ~4 months and missed some spots, it’s a lot to cover

I’ve been getting mixed feedback (from other people’s personal experiences and government sources/warnings) on whether traveling there right now is a good idea due to safety risks.
Check out Nicaragua or the Guatemala coast, also Mexico's Oaxaca coast fits perfectly. They're affordable, relaxed, hosts young travelers, and has great local food.
