Neuromancer

Pros

• Some books I’d recommend to anyone:  * Neuromancer by William Gibson
• the trend of books focusing on highly technological societies (the "Cyber") with a pessimistic, dystopian, hyper-corporate image of the future and characters struggling against this (the "punk"), spurred by William Gibson's Neuromancer.
• Neuromancer
• The sky above the port was the color of a television, tuned to a dead channel. Neuromancer
• Neuromancer is about a hacker. Maybe that counts? 270 pages.

Cons

• I have just quit my second audiobook in a row, first Nuromancer, now Revelation space, i just cant keep up with the characters and the plot.
• On one hand, I absolutely loved the book— The content of it, at least. The world, the story, the characters, the puzzles, the mysteries, the moody, grimy aesthetic of the Sprawl, and Gibson’s visionary take on technology and cyberspace....
• Reading it today, it's aged incredibly well, but I personally have a hard time getting invested in the characters and the events happening in it.
• It’s a great book but it’s one that leaves you pretty disoriented throughout. Purposefully. I didn’t enjoy it as I read it as much as I enjoyed dissecting it afterwards.
• William Gibson was midway through writing Neuromancer when Blade Runner came out, and he walked out of the theater completely dejected that his book would just be seen as a cash-grab rip-off of Blade Runner.
