NL is a very safe country with a comprehensive transportation grid, and it’s also quite small compared to California, about 1/10 as large, and it’s quick to get from one end to the other by train. From the airport it’s less than 30 minutes to the Centraal train station in the heart of Amsterdam. There are people in information booths at the airport who can help get the proper tickets and directions. It’s a wonderful idea to send them to see the place of your heritage! My sister has lived there for 25 years with her Dutch husband & his family are all from Amsterdam. It’s a lovely country!
