Pros

  • I don’t need armor but my gaming experience with it on is actually better than with it off
  • she may hit one that has malware on it and Armor ones a good job of blocking them.
  • most routers won’t do that, armor does extra over even just the base Orbi firewall settings.

Cons

  • Armor is a pay to use service that supposedly helps with Internet security but honestly, it’s a giant scam.
  • I turned access control and Armor pretty much as soon as I got the Orbi in order to reduce CPU na memory load, and it's something you don't really need at all.
  • Only weird issue so far is Armor randomly re-enables itself.
  • I don’t think it’s Armor. You may have corrupt settings and you might try the factory reset and start over.
  • Interesting armor blocks every appletv4k on the network so it’s definitely something weird in there. For now with Armor disabled it’s rock solid

this release seems to have introduced a possible IPv6-related bug when using certain devices & you have Armor enabled. ... Disabling armour seems to not only solve that but also an issue relating to holding addresses when roaming.

My purchase included a year of Netgear Armor but I feel like once that expires I'm going to lose a lot of functionality. (I could be wrong but it looks like that holds most of the App features).

I’m running Netgear Armor. It’s not showing that it’s blocking any services associated with the devices so I don’t think that is the issue but I haven’t ruled it out either. Even with Armor turned off I can’t get the devices to get a correct IP.

I recently bought an or I, and the armor is free for 30 days. When you click on the blue button, you can see what website it is that was blocked. The ones I have seen are typically apps similar to Mailchimp, so Mail management websites. There was one website that I have no idea what it was. I don’t know if there is any actual value added by keeping the armor software live after the free trial.
