There are some elevated cities and countries that are on par with weather in Britain (hence why the colonial governments loved specific cities) -Addis Ababa, Nairobi (famous for great weather), Lesotho (solid snowy winter), Morocco etc.

Nairobi has a national park IN THE CITY (well, bordering it). It’s filled with giraffes, lions, zebras, etc. This is such a remarkable opportunity to see some of the most incredible wildlife without having to go out of your way, like at all.
Kenya is pretty developed especially the urban cities, I’m assuming you’re just naive. Don’t miss out on this experience because of fear.
