You're completely leaving out Nagasaki, the most interesting city in Kyushu.
You don't have Nagasaki on your list - it's a beautiful city.
You know that if you stayed in Nagasaki (near Nagasaki St) you could have taken the limousine bus (from 5:50am) that takes 55 mins and arrived with enough time. Also availability of taxis is wider.
There’s mixed thoughts on Nagasaki online but I would recommend it for 1.5 days (I was there for 2.5). The port area is pretty and the history of European integration is interesting
On Kagoshimi vs keeping Nagasaki, I'd keep Nagasaki. It's one of the most historically significant and under visited cities in Japan
