MyQ

Pros
- Have a MyQ. Meross works great with it.
- I went from just having MyQ open my garage with Siri, to getting a whole homelab Proxmox setup to virtualize HAOS and spending weeks doing lots of digging.
- The app has a great chat feature and they've been able to resolve my issues no problems. Highly suggest giving it a try.
Cons
- RATGDO! It’s cheap, pretty straightforward to install, and gives way better control than MyQ ever did
- IIRC it was because Chamberlain started just straight-up removing third party integration, so you suddenly couldn’t control your garage door with Alexa or Ring or whatnot, you had to go into their MyQ app.
- Garage door, stay away from MyQ.
- It's a fairly simple system hiding behind a lot of high margin branding.
- MyQ specifically put resources unto actively blocking open source solutions to integrate their openers with HomeKit, Google Home, etc. while refusing to provide this functionality themselves. All so they can force users into their app to...

MyQ specifically put resources unto actively blocking open source solutions to integrate their openers with HomeKit, Google Home, etc. while refusing to provide this functionality themselves. All so they can force users into their app to push ads. Their newer openers are moving to an all encrypted wireless communication (no wires) so things like ratgdo can’t be used to provide this integration.

According to the article, over time Chamberlain had changed MyQ “making it both less useful and more expensive”.
LiftMaster uses myQ, and myQ will eventually test your patience.
I have two that replaced my MyQ system and seriously wish I would have never given MyQ my money.
