MSR Hubba Hubba

The Hubba hubba is a tried and true tent. While it's definitely not the lightest, it's a solid freestanding tent that will do exactly what you need it to do with no complications. If you are newer to backpacking, that is wholeheartedly probably one of the best tents you can get.

I’d go hubba bc I hate a tent that relies on anything not specific to the tent- I want freestanding and no reliance on anything gear I use for anything else.

Unless you are an intense high mileage person, the Hubba Hubba is by far the best tent I’ve ever owned.

Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2, Nemo Dagger 2P, or the MSR Hubba Hubba all have essentially the same design and are all great. Very livable space for a 2P tent, two doors and vestibules for dry space outside of the tent, and full coverage rainfly for wind/storm protection.

Have already looked at tents like the durston xmid 2 and msr freelite/hubba hubba that are popular but wanted more insights aswell.

I had a Hubba Hubba for many years in the Pacific Northwest (rainy) and that was not my experience.

I had the original hubba hubba for 18 years. ... It was still going strong when I got rid of it but I was pretty happy to have a new tent that didn't look so tired.
