Mount Fuji

Pros

• Fuji is in the latter category: technical terrain experience is not needed at all, but it is extremely strenuous: 1500m elevation gain, and steep.
• Tokyo was still cool but we loved Kyoto, Miyajima, Shirakawago and ofc mt Fuji.
• From Takayama, I took the Limon bus straight to Kawaguchiko for the main event - Mt. Fuji, which stands alone, separated from the Japanese Alps.
• Went to Mt. Fuji last November. Will go back to Lake Kawaguchi.
• also maybe check out mt fuji and owakudani for the black eggs.

Cons

• Mt Fuji is shy and there's not much point in a day trip to see Fuji if you won't see Fuji due to clouds, etc.
• Skip Mt Fuji. It’ll be enveloped in clouds anyway snd you’re doing Nikko for the mountains.
• Also visibility of the peak of Mt Fuji drops by March and can be very unpredictable so you may want to consider it as a day trip from Tokyo on a day when you know the weather and visibility will be good.
• I did Mt Fuji (3776 m) last year, with 1 night to acclimatize at 2300 m, and that was pretty tough.
