Pros
- Moonrakers is interesting certainly.
- Production value for the base game is a solid B+ or A-. Nice enough components with a cohesive design. ... My group enjoyed it because it played to different strengths.
- I love Moonrakers but it suffers from a slow start, which often pushes the game out to the two-hour mark. It's frustrating when the early game coughs up a bunch of late-game contracts and everyone needs to spend their turns at base milli...
- Moonrakers is one of my FAVORITE deckbuilders because it feels less like solitaire than a lot of other similar games specifically because of the wheeling and dealing.
- I have the Big Box and I like it. I like space themed games and I like deckbuilding. ... A deckbuilder akin to dominion where you try to build sort of an engine that gets you icons for missions, and others can help you if you convince th...
Cons
- I HATE it. it's one of the only games that I actively warn people away from buying. Feels like a high production Kickstarter scam. components are great, but that's it. ... everyone's decks are strong enough to complete missions with no n...
- I was kinda 'meh' on it, the semi-coop and negotiation elements are very group dependant and IMO tough for a game to execute on really well. Game was a little too long imo and it's also overproduced like most Kickstarter games. But I did...
- Moonrakers - Lot's of negotiating, but not in a hostile way. I find this game to be very friendly feeling. It's not my personal favorite because I do feel there are some balance issues, but it's always a great time regardless.
- The game my family are really enjoying atm is Moonrakers. My favourite as it's not too complicated and it's all about negotiating. ... Only flaw is not the greatest two player game. 3-5 is better to play.

I HATE it. it's one of the only games that I actively warn people away from buying. Feels like a high production Kickstarter scam. components are great, but that's it. ... everyone's decks are strong enough to complete missions with no negotiation, so the most interesting part of the game goes out the window. so then it's you just watching each other fully cycle through their whole deck every single turn to complete a mission. that makes each players turn take at least 5 minutes, maybe more.
Production value for the base game is a solid B+ or A-. Nice enough components with a cohesive design. ... My group enjoyed it because it played to different strengths.
I was kinda 'meh' on it, the semi-coop and negotiation elements are very group dependant and IMO tough for a game to execute on really well. Game was a little too long imo and it's also overproduced like most Kickstarter games. But I didn't hate it, I'd give it a second chance with a different group.
I love Moonrakers but it suffers from a slow start, which often pushes the game out to the two-hour mark. It's frustrating when the early game coughs up a bunch of late-game contracts and everyone needs to spend their turns at base milling the contract deck.
Moonrakers is one of my FAVORITE deckbuilders because it feels less like solitaire than a lot of other similar games specifically because of the wheeling and dealing.
I have the Big Box and I like it. I like space themed games and I like deckbuilding. ... A deckbuilder akin to dominion where you try to build sort of an engine that gets you icons for missions, and others can help you if you convince them with promises of shares of the spoils.
It’s fun solo, but isn’t top tier solo like Dune Imperium or Spirit Island. ... Part of the fun of Moonrakers is improving your ship.
Other times, if the crowd is right, we've played much more complex games like Castles of Burgundy, Hansa, and Moonrakers.
Moonrakers - Lot's of negotiating, but not in a hostile way. I find this game to be very friendly feeling. It's not my personal favorite because I do feel there are some balance issues, but it's always a great time regardless.
